Webinar: Parallels RAS & AppsAnywhere

Parallels RAS & AppsAnywhere integration enables education organizations to seamlessly deliver Windows applications to non-windows devices at an affordable cost.

Parallels RAS is an alternative to traditional and expensive VDI and desktop virtualization tools, and using remote desktop technology, IT can deliver all their Windows apps to any device, on and off campus.  And by integrating with AppsAnywhere, students and staff have only one location to go to for all their apps, regardless of the device they're using.

WHEN?  October 17th, 2018 - 10:00 AM PDT

Some of the topics that will be covered in this upcoming live Webinar include:

  1. Empower BYOD and utilize any device to make educational resources readily available to students, educators, and staff, whatever platform they wish to work from.
  2. Easy to deploy VDI with no need for expensive add-ons (e.g. reporting engine, printer redirection, ADC and load balancing)
  3. Protect student and staff data with encryption protocols and advances filtering.
  4. Enable distance learning by delivering educational applications to any device, anywhere, anytime.

Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) 16.5 Launches

Grazed from Parallels

Parallels launched version 16.5 of Parallels Remote Application Server, which allows IT administrators to automatically provision remote desktop session hosts and enables Parallels RAS deployment to auto-scale based on the load. Parallels RAS now also supports publishing Microsoft App-V containers. The extended PowerShell API supports new features including automation for a variety of complex configurations and repetitive tasks (as well as automation for extended client policies), giving IT administrators flexibility to easily configure client devices.

Managed service providers (MSPs) and independent software vendors (ISVs) now have new customization capabilities, such as rebranding the Windows Client and the ability to download a branded Windows Client through the HTML5 gateway. In addition, MSPs and ISVs can now flexibly manage and monitor licenses for their clients or farms with Service Provider, with the ability to set the maximum user limits and notifications if sub-licenses have reached their limit.

NComputing Launches VERDE VDI 8.1 Solution for Enterprise Customers

Grazed from NComputing

Following the acquisition of VERDE Workspaces in Q1 2017, NComputing today launches VERDE VDI 8.1, a purpose-built desktop virtualization solution for enterprise and SMB. NComputing is now able to cater to businesses and organizations of all sizes, offering a full stack, end-to-end solution including thin clients, software clients, and desktop management and provisioning infrastructure.

VERDE VDI is a purpose-built VDI solution for enterprise customers, aiming to deliver the highest performing, flexible and affordable desktop management and provisioning infrastructure on the market. VERDE VDI's features address the three main challenges that stand in the way of widespread VDI adoption: cost, complexity and use case coverage.

Security, in addition to Windows 10 migration, is a major driver of VDI adoption and is at the heart of VERDE VDI. VERDE VDI is organically built from the ground up on a secure Linux foundation. VERDE VDI incorporates a dynamic provisioning model that protects users by making unsanctioned changes non-persistent. Prevention of malware, virus attacks, data leakage and unauthorized access to the internal network are all cornerstones of the VERDE VDI security protocols. VERDE VDI also automates desktop management and helps keep images up-to-date and available thereby offering further protection to users.
