CloudZoom Launches Free Virtual Appliance Library

CloudZoom, Inc. announces the official release of it’s website today. The New Hampshire based startup has a vision of the future, and the future contains simple, fast, and convenient virtual appliance services. A multiyear plan for rolling out products and services is in the works.
With virtualization taking hold, businesses are beginning to realize the benefit of obtaining pre-configured or “ready to deploy” applications packaged for cloud infrastructures. These packages are known as virtual appliances, virtual applications, or cloud applications. Each virtual appliance consists of an operating system and applications installed, secured, patched, and even maintained.
"In today’s virtual appliance market, there are silos of unique, vendor specific catalogs. The advantage of using the Cloudzoom library is its unbiased approach of listing any virtual appliance, no matter the vendor, and making it easy to find," said the CloudZoom founders.
The launch of the CloudZoom website introduces the first wave of cloud services. Wave one includes a free, simple, fast, and convenient virtual appliance search engine and growing library, as well as, a custom virtual appliance construction service. As the founders put it, "Due to individual business IT requirements and an ever growing list of software, existing virtual appliances will not meet the needs of every business. This is where the custom virtual appliance construction service becomes valuable; it provides clients with a way to have a virtual appliance built to their exact specification."
The CloudZoom library has over one thousand (1000+) virtual appliances available today, with more on the way. CloudZoom crawls the web discovering any and all available virtual appliances, stores the information in it’s database, and provides a user-friendly interface for browsing and filtering the library. "We like to keep it simple. Google and Apple are leading the way, and we’re following," joke the founders. Browsing or filtering by vendor, operating system, software package, or price helps to quickly narrow the search results. Each virtual appliance summary page includes, but is not limited to, information on price, operating system, installed software, usernames and passwords, and configured memory and disk sizes.
