Internap Corporation, a provider of high-performance Internet infrastructure services, today announced the expansion of its OpenStack-based bare-metal Infrastructure-as-a-Service offering, AgileSERVER 2.0, to its data centers in Amsterdam, Dallas and Santa Clara, Calif. Launched in 2015 out of Internap’s New York Metro data center in Secaucus, N.J., AgileSERVER 2.0 is now available in four locations globally, enabling enterprises and devops teams running mission-critical applications and big data workloads to build scale-out infrastructure environments that are higher performing and more cost-effective than commodity public cloud platforms.

"OpenStack has become the emerging platform for innovation and digital transformation, and Internap is focused on making this adoption seamless for companies worldwide," said Satish Hemachandran, senior vice president and general manager, cloud and hosting, Internap. "Our next generation of OpenStack-powered AgileCLOUD and AgileSERVER provides IT organizations a way to rapidly deploy a flexible public or private cloud environment using open standards and simplified management tools. This latest expansion of our OpenStack cloud footprint enables our customers to build out high-performance infrastructure environments for their applications on a global scale."

AgileSERVER 2.0 is built on the native OpenStack API, allowing customers to access the entire OpenStack ecosystem of tools and avoid vendor lock in. Combining the dedicated processing power of bare-metal servers with the agility of the cloud, AgileSERVER 2.0 enables companies to achieve peak performance and on-demand scalability with the newest Intel-based single, dual and quad socket processors, and a wide range of memory options up to 1TB RAM. For data-intensive applications demanding the highest levels of performance, customers have the option of PCI Express Non-Volatile Memory (NVMe) Storage, which scales to 1M IOPS and delivers up to 10x the performance of today’s fastest-available SSDs. New customers can purchase and instantly spin up AgileSERVER 2.0 bare-metal instances using Internap’s self-service shopping cart, and choose from monthly, hourly or per-second billing configurations.

"We’ve been experiencing growing demand for our voice infrastructure services as consumers and businesses rapidly adopt VoIP and other IP-based voice applications. To offer our customers a zero-fail guarantee, we require a reliable Internet infrastructure with the elasticity to handle unexpected increases in traffic volume without compromising our performance standards," said Mark Thomas, CEO at 373K. "Internap’s bare-metal IaaS offers us the highest levels of performance and reliability, while giving us the flexibility to spin up instances on-demand globally to meet the evolving needs of our voice infrastructure workloads."

The Secaucus, Dallas and Santa Clara facilities also include Internap’s OpenStack-based AgileCLOUD public cloud, managed hosting and colocation services, enabling customers to create infrastructure environments that best fit their specific requirements. The OpenStack-based platform that includes AgileCLOUD and AgileSERVER allows customers to manage virtual and bare-metal instances within the same cloud management portal, providing the flexibility to accommodate changing scalability and performance needs. Additionally, Internap’s global Performance IPÔ service with patented Managed Internet Route Optimizer (MIRO) technology ensures that customers’ traffic is delivered over the fastest Internet path, resulting in a reliable, seamless experience regardless of geographic location.

AgileSERVER 2.0 availability

AgileSERVER 2.0 is available immediately out of Internap’s data centers in Amsterdam, Dallas, Santa Clara, Calif. and Secaucus, N.J. Internap expects to expand AgileSERVER 2.0 to additional international locations, including Montreal and Singapore, in the first half of 2016.
