Tintri, Inc., today announced growing adoption of its enterprise cloud solutions by healthcare organizations, increasing its role in helping organizations spend less time and money on infrastructure so they can focus on innovation and patient care.

By replacing legacy technology with an enterprise cloud, Tintri addresses the objectives of large healthcare organizations-including hospitals, clinics, pharmaceuticals and device manufacturers. Organizations that rapidly expand their data footprints and add new applications need the agility to spin up new projects quickly and scale fluidly. Many of these organizations also face strict security and compliance requirements.

For these reasons, healthcare companies are turning to Tintri to capture the agility of public cloud within the control of their data center. That’s why six of the ten largest global pharmaceutical companies, as well as several medical and research centers, have purchased Tintri systems.

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) in Ontario, Canada recently switched to Tintri to significantly improve the performance of its virtual desktop computing environment while reducing its overall IT footprint.

"With Tintri, our healthcare workers can now access their desktops 10 times faster than on our previous VMware vSAN, which allows them to be much more productive and improve the care we give to all of our patients," said Tim Shaw, network engineer at CGMH. "The Tintri system has far exceeded all of our expectations. Any new servers or systems that we deploy will take advantage of the Tintri Enterprise Cloud."

Dominion Diagnostics, a leading national laboratory that offers drug detection, prescription drug monitoring, and clinical blood testing services turned to Tintri to replace its legacy storage to accelerate monitoring and testing services.

"We are now running several different databases on the Tintri system," said Jamie Nolen, senior network administrator at Dominion Diagnostics. "We are running all of our DB2, Oracle, and MS SQL databases on Tintri. Our DB2 database is the largest one at 3TB. All of our database VMs require high performance and Tintri delivers more IOPS than we need."

"The healthcare industry is at a point where agility is at a premium. There is a growing rate of innovation in products and services, and patient expectation for access to information," said Yael Zheng, chief marketing officer at Tintri. "To deliver competitive, quality care, healthcare organizations need to be able to move fast. And with Tintri, those organizations are spinning up new workloads in minutes, automating away complexity and serving an increasingly mobile workforce."

"Healthcare organizations realize that infrastructure plays a critical role in their ability to deliver differentiated products, services and patient care," said Bob Rossi, vice president CDW Healthcare. "With Tintri, they access enterprise cloud benefits: the agility to get to market-and to patients-with new solutions faster, with the controls and compliance of their data center. And Tintri’s building block-like architecture makes the platform simple to manage and scale for our fast-growing healthcare customers."
